Sony Booth Tour

Sony gave E3 attendees plenty to talk about this year, with some fresh titles and a first look at the new PSP!

Jak 3 winds up the Jak and Daxter trilogy in a desolate wasteland, equipping players with an arsenal of weapons and some cool vehicles. Rachet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is the first online action platformer for PlayStation2. Gamers choose from up to 20 weapons with 4 levels of upgrade and hip new rides like the Turbo Slider and Hovership. Fans can expect even more hits like Sly Cooper 2, Gran Turismo 4 and Hot Shots Fore!

Most of the excitement revolved around Sony's PSP handheld, which boasts a 16:9 widescreen LCD, built-in stereo speakers and impressive graphics.

According to Sony's Teresa Weaver, "…this is a great fusion of what Sony does incredibly well. Games, music and movies. It's really our areas of expertise all in one device…"

Send An Agent (Conker)

Well, the people have spoken. Folks wanted to see more of the new Conker: Live and Reloaded. We Sent an Agent to find the story!

Eugene Yuen of Microsoft reveals, "…The game is going to be like two games in one. On one side is a sixteen person multiplayer game, and on the other side is a totally redone version of Conker's Bad Fur Day."


E3 has teamed with the Make-A-Wish foundation to welcome youngsters with life-threatening illnesses to the convention.

This year, Caleb Wynn, a young man with cystic fibrosis, and Andrew Benecke, who has a form of bone cancer, paid a visit to 3.

Caleb tried out the upcoming release, Doom 3.

"It was really fun," he said. "It was neat to play it. I've liked Doom for a long time now, and I got to play the new one. I was pretty excited about that."

Caleb and Andrew had a great time playing games. Both received their very own Gamecubes as well as 3 merchandise.

What's the big news? All the EA Sports titles are available for Xbox Live and PS2 online for the first time ever!

Major upgrades abound! Madden, for instance, features a new hit stick as well as some defensive hot routes. Fifa's got one touch control and NASCAR 2005 lets players race modifieds, trucks, and production cars.

EA Games' military campaign continues with Medal Of Honor: Pacific Assault, featuring a new engine and dynamic AI. Battlefield 2 brandishes 35 weapon systems and vehicles, 30 different armaments and new-fangled squad control.

Players choose from over 40 hip hop artists or celebrities - all playable, all fightable - in Def Jam: Fight For New York. The run-and-gun Goldeneye: Rogue Agent allows James Bond fans to assume the roles of mysterious villains. Pussy Galore, Goldfinger, Dr. No and, of course, Oddjob all make appearances. The Sims will age gracefully in Sims 2, going from infant to old age.

Finally, Lord Of The Rings: The Battle For Middle Earth, based on Peter Jackson's popular films, lets fans control 4 different armies in a real time strategy game.
