More games announced for Nokia's gaming phone
N-Gage owners needn't worry about having enough games to while away the hours with between phone calls--Nokia is partnering with plenty of companies to keep the titles coming. Hudson Soft will be bringing the game deck its first beat-em-up with The King of Fighters, which includes two-player Bluetooth support. Rifts, a pen-and-paper role-playing series published by Palladium Books, Inc., is being adapted for the phone in its first-ever videogame version. Among the first games to come to N-Gage through an agreement with Nihon Falcom will be a title in the legendary Xanadu series in the form of Xanadu Next, slated for a Q4 2004 release. Additionally, Electronic Arts will be adapting SSX: Out of Bounds and FIFA 2005 for the N-Gage.
Nokia is also working on its premier first-party effort, Pathway to Glory, an action-packed World War II multiplayer strategy game. Pathway to Glory will let players engage in real-time battles, whether in a Global Battle Ground via the N-Gage Arena or in local multiplayer contest of up to six players.
In order to help the gaming industry keep track of the growing list of N-Gage titles, Nokia has just announced the launch of N-Gage Insider. An industry trade magazine for retailers, distributors, and industry insiders, N-Gage Insider will be published quarterly, providing the latest N-Gage news, title information, in-depth interviews with Nokia executives and game producers, and insight into the N-Gage retail strategy. |
