U&I; Entertainment Brings Top Downloadable Games to Retail
Publisher U&I Entertainment is charting a unique course in the industry, working with developers who self-publish downloadable games, and helping to bring those games to store shelves. With this partnership, smaller studios can still benefit from players who prefer the allure of physical copies of their games.
U&I has a few such games on display at E3 2016 this week, including a couple of entries in some popular franchises. Team17’s Worms W.M.D. is a favorite for strategy fans—although the classic artillery-battler is enhanced with a new visual style for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Worms W.M.D. will release on August 26.
Carmageddon: Max Damage is another game from a beloved, long-running series, and Stainless Games’ brash car combat and racing experience brings its over-the-top action to Xbox One and PS4 on July 5. Joining those games in the U&I lineup is a newer success story: Prison Architect, which earned rave reviews on PC for its distinctive simulation approach and the moral dilemmas that come with the premise. The Introversion Software-developed game will reach PS4 and Xbox One in July.
